Federal Funds RateThe interest rate charged between depository institutions (mostly banks) for short-term loans to meet their reserve requirements. It is a tool for the Federal Reserve to regulate money supply. A downward change of the Federal funds rate typically leads to short-term depreciation of the US dollar and vice versa.
